Does anyone know what the above cameras are for??? There are two cameras on bright yellow poles, at the side of the road overlooking all three lanes...are they ANPR?? they are on both carriageways around where the roadworks start/end, I thought they might be SPECS but its over a small distance

Is there a set at either end of the roadworks? If so it's likely to be SPECS. They're more and more popular at roadworks these day.

Drove through again today and it is SPECS cameras. They are replacing the central reservation so thats the reason for the lengthy roadworks. Amazing how slow 40 is when youre on the motorway, still find some people overtaking me tho.....

They're probably aware of the trick of changing lanes between the cameras.

And the support posts are still yellow, rather than the dark blue usually associated with SPECS installations? Wonder if this is an attempt to improve the overall visibility of the installation, given that a shoebox-sized yellow camera housing suspended in the ionosphere (OK, perhaps that's a slight exaggeration...) above the carriageway on a non-reflective support arm/post really doesn't show up all that well under dipped beams at night, and aren't all that much more obvious in broad daylight.

Maybe because they're catching to many?
