Interested to know what people think of this and if anybody has to pass more speed cameras on their daily commute? I commute from Kingston Upon Thames to Canary Wharf (18 miles) and pass 11 fixed speed cameras on the way to work and 9 on the way home. I have to pass a speed camera 100 times a week!!! Reason I've been roused is that I got caught by a mobile camera last week taking the speed camera total to 21 that day. I went for 10 years with no points and now I seem unable to avoid them, I'm currently on 9 points. As a motorcyclist I'd be at risk sticking to 30mph on some stretches of road as I'd be literally pushed out of the way by other motorists, this is fact as I've tried it!!
Not commuting...... merely 'going shopping'.
From home too local store, distance 3mls, I have to pass six scams each way, these are located on 'scamera alley' (A610 Nottm) over a distance, of approx 3/4s of a mile !
In addition to these we have the random mobile cameras plus roadside vehicle checks !
If I travel to Arnold via the ring road, there's another 'gauntlet' of scams to pass through, (six +) or I could use the B6004 route, and run the other 'gauntlet' of 6+ new scams on that stretch !
It's the same story when travelling to the QMC (hospital) via the ring road, multiple scams, fixed/mobile, almost ALL of the scams are 'hidden/obscured' and a large percentage of these are 'NOT'... 'Visible from 60yds' (ACPO 'Guidelines') !
A typical days motoring (shops/hospital/visiting friends etc) around 20mls in total would see me passing through at least '36'!! (WOW !) fixed scams + ?? mobile 'set ups', and thats just 'local' driving !
(OK, These are 'Pairs' of 'Specs', but it still amounts too, around 18 sets !)
Out of curiosity, how does 'this' compare to your 'hometown' ?
BTW...don't know about your area, but M/Cs are being rigorously 'targetted' down this way, due to the high fatality rate involving them !
