Transport 2000 also plans to push for an amendment where an assumption is made that drivers who hit a vulnerable road user such as a pedestrian are liable for personal injury claims, in other words making the driver automatically responsible for their actions.

Could be a whole new industry. Short of money?... take a dive onto a car bonnet and get paid a fortune....

Anyway I thought the no-win no-fee guys had already got this covered...

Yeah, I think in effect that's pretty much where we are. What's really needed is an amendment that makes all road users automatically responsible for their actions. That means drivers could claim against pedestrians who don't look where they're going and cause an accident, just as pedestrians can claim against a motorist who's driving carelessly/dangerously. A level playing field is all I'm suggesting. Hopefully that would encourage a bit more responsiblity on the part of all types of road user.

I don't even bother looking at this moronic website as it only annoys me and sidetracks me towards loony arguments instead of sensible debates.

I used to get really angry with their site and did send some bait that they actually displayed like I like bikes all over the road and driving at 12MPH

Don't look at T2000 as it only gets up your kilt and diverts you from sensible sites.....like this.

Andrew

Isn't there some stat that shows the majority of ped - car interfaces are where the ped has failed to exercise proper care - ie J-walking
