Anyone seen the above? Can't see it mentioned on here.

I'm seriously considering starting a demonstration over this. Absolutely disgusting.

They never had any trust to lose in the first place.

Brake, a road safety charity, welcomed the new flexibility for partnerships. Mary Williams, its chief executive, said: “Requiring casualties before action is abhorrent and results in needless deaths. We welcome the opportunity for covert enforcement because too many motorists simply slow down briefly for a yellow camera.”

So Brake would rather we didn't Brake :o

This smells of Dft dumping the issue on LAs

Note that it is from February 18th 2006. And I've just discovered we discussed it when it was first published:

Brake might be more accurate saying:

"enforcing by camera is abhorrent and results in needless deaths".

I really don't understand what she's saying. Can't she read the figures the same as anyone else? THEY DON'T WORK! TEHY DON'T SAVE LIVES! WE ARE NOT SEEING THE CLAIMED REDUCTIONS IN CASUALTIES ON A NATIONAL LEVEL! :banghead:

But then , if you or i need tinted glasses to see things clearly - we go to an optician and get optically corrected lenses - Brake seem to got to the SCP optician and get politically corect lenses fittted .
The SCPs are more optically challenged - unless it's got several pound (or preferably a pound sign followed by a large number of noughts) signs flashing - they can't see it.
As for their dictionaries - the definition specs - "corruption of spectacles " has been removed to be replaced with "a very good way of making money, without doing anything for road safety"
