My friends felt that the population density was getting a bit high in Missouri so they moved to Wyoming which is a great place if you don't like many neighbours.
Yes, Wyoming is a great place. Half the size as France but with a population density of just 5 people per square mile (as opposed to our 750+ people per quare mile). You have Yellowstone national park, Devils Tower, The Big Horn Mountains, the historic Origon Trail goes through there and lots more. At one time they were giving land away FOR FREE to get more people to live there.
I have rode accross it twice on a motorcycle. Its a beautiful place, virtualy untouched by mankind.
The only down side is the winters can be harsh, but the summers are fantastic.

Almost impossible if you're from the EU, easier if you aren't.
Yep you are right, the other option is to work for a UK company that wants to send you over on a contract. They sort out all the paperwork. If you have worked there for 3-5 years it is easier to get citizenship
I am looking at this option plus I am looking at the visa route. Still stay British but live out there as much as possible. That way if your health fails you can come back and be a burden to the NHS, you also keep your pension rights.
Off peak flights are still incerdibly cheap so getting there and back in no problem.
