I have had a word at the brewery, and they are open until 7.00 pm on Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays - so Saturday the 6th of January would enable travel to/through Cumbia, and a meet at 4.00 pm, and I assume all Christmas committments would be out of the way by then.

If we keep yacking for more than three hours there are two more pubs in the village, and there is a cafe right next to the brewery if you got peckish!

I've asked for details of accomodation from a couple of hotels, which I'll post up when I get them, and I think Lakeland Limited's sale should be under way by then if the wife/GF wants to bag a bargain!

If anyone has any other suggestions please post them ASAP - polite ones only!

Common chaps - speak up!
I am of course up for it, and as I received a £20 voucher to spend in the brewery for Christmas, there will be a small incentive to you - the more that come, the smaller it will get!!!

It will be the usual 1st come 1st served! :D :drink: :drink2:

Thank you for organising this social which I hope will be successful.

Unfortunately I will not be able to get there but I encourage anyone who can to do so.

Have a good time

Regards

Is this still happening?

Please let me know ASAP or post something on the board just confirming time & venue OR let me know if it's not!

Also, a bit of a map / postcode / grid reference would be handy!

OK. Anyone able to make the meet in TWO or THREE WEEKS TIME?

That would be either the 17th or the 24th of February.

Meet either at the Hawkshead Brewery for an educational visit, or if we have enough to talk about and you want somewhere a bit more comfortable, the Belsfield Hotel in Bowness.

Local attractions for Bowness include LAKELAND limited, Lakes Steamers, the Steamboat Museum, the Beatrix Potter centre, Helen's Chocolate shop, and many many shops including the Lakeland Sheepskin Centre, so if bringing your spouses, ensure the credit card is secure!! There are lots of places to eat in Bowness too if you are making a day of it.

The Hotel boasts a snooker table, but residents have priority over it's use!

As reported previously there is a good eating location in Staveley, as well as one of the largest cycle and snowboard showrooms in the northwest, so let me know if you can make it, and if so which location you prefer.

I am prepared to transport anyone to Kendal/Hincaster if you wish to partake of the Brewery's tasting arrangements, OR the Hotel bar in Bowness.
