The M6 was also closed around J31 - Preston last week (maybe the week before) for several hours during the evening rush hour due to a lorry spilling diesel

Unfortunately I was caught in that jam on Thursday night - my journey home from work (40 miles) took 5.5 hours (not an amusing situation).

From what I can gather the tanker carrying the Nitric acid must have stopped at about the worst possible point to cause the maximum traffic chaos. Can't blame the poor driver though and I hope he and the BiB recover fully.
