I saw an advert for the Live Earth concert in July. Supposed to be a Live Aid for Global warming awareness.......pass me the sick bag!

Anyhow I see Madona is on the UK concert UK line up.

Strange that this week we see her flying to Africa in her private jet to buy another kid........Just don'e see that she has bought into this carbon nonsence either. But still never misses a chance to get on stage and preach to everyone else.

This must be the height of hypocrisy.

Bono involved, I imagine. Never one to miss a publicity opportunity.

Is there an emoticon for poking your finger down your throat?

I was reading my current 'toilet book' 'is it just me or is everything just shit' (I strongly recommend it).

Anyway one of the rants was about our saviour Al Gore (Live Earth Impressario) who seems to have transformed into some sort of hero for the unwashed yet when he was in power for 8 years did little to stem the relentless terror of 'global warming'.

On a more worrying note did anyone see that wierdo Milliband on Newsnight last week....he actually used the phrase 'climate change deniers'! you heard it here first! (Is he a real person? he seems like a kind of automaton to me, a very odd sort of chap indeed, the type who rarely made it to school lunch time with his dinner money intact)

Apparently he's the blarite champion, he makes john redwood look like your favouruite uncle!

I am not a climate change denier. I think it is happening, as it has done ever since the dawn of time.

I'm looking forward to this.

Hopefully it will be a nice sunny day, the whole of Lancashire and Cumbria will stay at home to watch it on TV.

Me, I'll have have the roof down on the TVR, shades on and have some fun on the deserted A roads of the North West (just hope there are a couple of petrol stations open).

I'll do my bit and put Radio 1 on the radio (assuming they are covering it), I wont be able to hear it once I'm doing over 40mph but it will be in my thoughts.

We'll probably see the first ASBOs issued for it soon. No new law even needed. :(

And that's before you consider the 'carbon footprint' of the event. And of all those travelling to it and from it. And the equipment. And the organisers' offices and travel. And making the stage and the stadium and and and...

where can I get some carbon footprints? I don't usually subscribe to mainstream fashions but these could be fun in the snow on friday.

....inviting, of course, comparison with "Holocaust deniers", which I find obscene. They have turned belief in man-made global warming into some sort of communist-style pseudo-religion, and they'll be denouncing us heretics and sending us off to re-education camps before too long.

Fortunately they probably won't resort to burning us at the stake, but only because that might put too much CO2 into the atmosphere.

in spite of all the hype I am still encorraged by how many people I know who also think man made global warming is a nonsence.

A buddy of mine is an architect and he makes a fortune out of implementing so-called energy saving technology, which is a requirement for new building work. He also said that within his profession the general consensus from those he deals with is that it is complete cobblers. But a good little earner while it lasts...!

I have nothing against reducing energy wastage on an economic basis, and a little spent here and there can help reduce the bills (thinking mainly about things like loft insulation)

It just tires me when people rant on about how we should do it to save the planet, complete boswelox.

I caught an advertisement for ‘Time Team’ yesterday. Apparently hundreds of thousands of years ago, the UK was not an island, there were settlers living in what is now the channel

Ooh, just found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_Channel

A sea level rise of 120m in 10,000 years, that’s an average of 12mm per year, all thanks to melted ice.

In conclusion, climate changed saved us from being part of Europe :D

Having dug deeper, the top useful Google hit showing “sea level rise due to global warming” shows that from 1930 to 1980 (50 years [the trend hasn't changed noticeably in recent years]), the 5 year running mean sea level rose 8cm, that’s 16mm per year, clearly we’re having a lot of impact

The sea levels aren't rising, England is sinking.
