:gatso2: What do you think about this approach to road safety on an island where there are no fixed speed cameras?

Race weeks (ie TT, GP etc.) apart the roads seemed big smash free when I lived there.

There is no speed limit in NSL signed areas, other than the offence of furious driving.

As the Island is basically a mountain top sticking out of the Irish sea, there are few stretches where speeds greatly in excess of UK NSL's limit would be appropriate.

Last time I was there, the only DC was 200yds long outside the airport.

KSI's for the Island, would be difficult to compare with UK figures as the infrastructure is so different, they still have Horse drawn trams, electric railway and a steam railway.

I'm going to the Island soon, I have to keep my eyes open.

As an aside, has anyone seen the in-car video of the late Tony Pond doing a 100 mph lap of the TT circuit in a Rover 827. It's awesome and I thank my friend 'JT' for presenting it to me. Tony's car control is/was just fantastic and I had the pleasure and priviledge of co-driving for him on a few events when he was first getting known in motorsport.
