It will indeed be interesting to see how he tries to weasel out of this one.
This "denial" business really gets my goat. I didn't realise that Moonbat had taken that line as well, although it doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
True scientists delight in being proven wrong, because science isn't about point-scoring or dogma, it's about mankind gradually uncovering the truth about how the universe works. We're all supposed to be on the same side. To have a chance of being proved wrong, you have to allow your opponents to speak.
Any "scientist" who tries to gag their opponents is a bloody charlatan as far as I'm concerned, and quite possibly a liar as well (remind you of anyone?) There's simply no need to do so. If your opponents are talking crap, it doesn't matter eventually because it'll all come out in the wash. I suspect that everything coming out in the wash is exactly what these people are afraid of. They've got too much invested in AGW. They care about themselves more than they do about humanity's future. And they have the cheek to tell car drivers the exact same thing.
Prof Beard, don't you find this attempt to gag those who question AGW absolutely abhorrent and totally anti-science? I think it's so, so telling. It seems that certain people really do want us to regress to a medieval lifestyle when they know it's unnecessary. How can they live with themselves? Presumably once they've forced that upon us they'll move onto something else. When will it stop? Why do these people see progress as such an evil thing? Why the wish to control the populace to such a degree? These loonies have already got far too far and need to be stopped.
(I know I've been ranting a lot lately. My apologies to anyone who's fed up with it; I just wish I didn't have so much to rant about!

"The freedom provided by the motor vehicle is not universally applauded, however: there are those who resent the loss of state control over individual choice that the car represents. Such people rarely admit their prejudices openly; instead, they make false or exaggerated claims about the adverse effects of road transport in order to justify calls for higher taxation or restrictions on mobility."
