hi, strange one here, not related to speed, in fact the opposite, its a parking threat. I've parked my car in a designated parking zone (drawn out by a white box outline) but it also is half way into an area where a business building have out front 'off street' parking, but still there are white boxes out front to park in??
anyway I park my car in one, which is maybe 1/3 to 1/2 in the way of their 3 car pavement access to offsteet parking, and today I find a 'friendly' note on my windscreen. it reads...
"PRIVATE PARKING
This parking bay is for the xxxxxxx staff only. Please do not park in the parking bay or infront of the parking bay. If you do your car would be tow away or clamp from xxxdatexxx without any notice
BY MANAGEMENT"
apart from the xxx entries the rest is letter perfect, you will of course notice the fantasic grasp of english used!!
I was under the impression you had to have noticable warning signs (of which they have none) up on the walls around the area you offer clamping & tow away services. so on what legal grounds would they have of actually carrying out any of the threats?
Trouble is my landlord has felt it nescissary to start charging 50quid a month for his parking permits, so I'm finding alternative areas to park, and as the council is so very strict on their land, this zone is immune from PCN's so I see it as 'fair game'! agreed?
