This is my first post.

I was driving though Glasgow today and the speed limit was 40 directly in front of a set of traffic lights.

The lights were green so I drove through at about 38 miles per hour.

the speed limit after the lights was 40. There was no speed limit between this. ( distance of about 10 meters)
Having not driven past many speed cameras I checked to see what speed the camera was set at on the Strathclyde camera website and it said that it was set to 30.
It was a Gatso red light camera I think. Do these cameras only take photos or charge you with points if you go through a red light?. ( The camera was on Edinburgh road at springboing road)

Did you mean to say it was 40 before the lights, or 30?

If it was 40 before and 40 after, with no other signage, then it doesn't matter what the scameraship website says, any limit below 40 would be legally unenforceable.

Gatso red light cameras are just that. It's the RedSpeed devices (both called RedSpeed and made by a company called RedSpeed) which can do both red light and speed limit 'enforcement'.

It was 40 before and after the camera ( then changed to 30 2 miles down the road..

I take it the gatso red light camera one only looks for red light offences.?
