Hi, This is actually not comment but need a favour. I am worried having thought weather I have jumped the red light or not. Explaining: There is cross road nearby my home with red-light camera in the one side of the road (west side of dual carriage way). I was coming from single carriage way (perpendicular to the dual carriage way) and was turning left on dual carriage way (turning to east side of the dual carriage way, other side of camera). Immediate after turning there is pedestrial crossing and I am not sure, probably it was with red-light and also with no pedestrian on either side. Main traffic light for turning left was green but probably pedestrian crossing traffic light was red. I am really worried thinking i am captured by Camera or not. This pedestrian crossing (east side) is very far from red-light camera (west side) say more than 55 metres. I know there is only one camera at this site (west side on dual carriageway). Can you help me to realese my tension saying about chances of being caught in camera or not. Please help. Karan

I'm pretty sure it's one red light camera per stop line, so the pedestrian crossing won't be enforced. To know for sure, there's usually 2 black rectangle markings in the road surface per lane, one before and one after the stop line. This is where the inductive loops to detect jumpers are buried. Only lanes with theses rectangles are enforced.

BTW Welcome to the forum!

I'm pretty sure that the camera has to be a set distance from the lights. Makes sense as it would be a fixed focus camera.
