A BBC documentary exploring our relationship with the car is hoping to include a driver who has killed someone, perhaps through a momentary lapse of concentration or at a relatively low speed.

We are not looking for drink-drivers, excessive speeders or joy-riders, but for someone whose driving resulted in a death in circumstances that many viewers could easily find themselves in.

This issue will only form a small part of the programme but is important and will be sensitively handled.

If you have been in that position and would be prepared to talk about it in a way that might alert other drivers to the dangers, please contact Jon McKnight at Denham Productions on 01752 345444 or e-mail him at jon.mcknight@denhams.tv

Thank you

What a totally pointless, waste of time.

I could see some value in interviewing a drink driver/joy rider killer, we might get more insight into why they do it, and how they can be discouraged.

But what could anyone gain from interviewing someone who had killed through a “momentary lapse of concentration”. This could happen to anyone at any time so what more is there to say? Nothing, but I guess this won’t hold back the BBC from milking the situation for all it’s worth.

I wonder what the bias of the programme will be, another shock horror revelation of the evils of the motor car, or will it go for the human side of the story, a touchy feely exploration of self guilt and anguish.

I tend to side with Johnny.

I have full faith in the programme being yet another 'evil motorist' documentary.

Im also sure your BBC chiefs wrench everytime they give money for another Top gear programme but I suppose the popularity ratings for the show manages to reduce some of their pain.

The presumption that members of this forum are more likely to have killed someone in a motoring incident worries me a bit, as I always presumed we were here because we worry about road saftey in general :?:

I just had a long and very positive chat with the producers of the series.

We're going to share some information and see what develops. Cross your fingers.

From Carnation's reply about the intended content in the other thread it sounds like this should be a reasonably balanced program. Paul, did they tell you when it's planned to be shown?
