I have a number of vehicles on SORN.

I would like to "rationalise" them such that all the SORNS fall due at the same time instead of scattererd throughout the year. (so they are easier to keep track of)

Is there a way of doing this??

Try this: declare all your vehicles off road today. Do it again each year on this date. End of problem.

But they are already declaired "Off road"

Would it fcuk the system up if I re-sorned a vheicle that was already sorned?

Would I simply end up geting two SORN reminders a year for each vehicle? (or not as the case may be, but still get fines for not sorning even though its sorned  )

This IS a government IT system after all! I cannot realistically expect it to behave sensibly or logically (which is why I would prefer a definitive awnser before trying to mess with it!)

;-)

I doubt it! They couldn't even remember to send me the reminder for mine (deliberately or not) and as a result, despite it being locked in a garage and never moving.......It cost me £70! That is: until I left it longer and got my money back! (I don't use it in the winter you see).....

My advice, put a pop up reminder on your computer ahead of the date to remind you. You can't rely on those Bas*ar*s to remind you...... If you forget It's more money for them and they can have a very bad memory when it suits them..! They'll then tell you that they have no legal responsibility to send you a reminder! It's up to YOU to know when it's due!

Bas*ar*s!..........

The DVLA are an "Agency" now...a private Company hired to deal with road tax issues, if they can find a way to increase profit on the operation....they will!

Other reminder ideas.

Leave your old tax disk in the car. The SORN renewal will be the same month the tax ran out every year.

If you have refunded the disk then put a piece of paper with the sorn renewal date in the tax disk holder.

Put a reminder on your mobile phone's calendar.

Very good Ideas Toltec! We need to look after ourselves now 'cos we can't rely on them any more......following on from your line, maybe if you have two cars....keep a reminder in each of the other!
