Getting back to the point, its crucial that local villagers have the means to measure the speed of passing drivers. How else are they going to determine who to angrily march up to at night with burning torches and pitchforks?

Why get that desperate- they could have a monthly trophy and free round
in the local pub for the one with the highest recorded speed - we've had hi speed pushchairs and dogs, why not pigs, before they all speed off home in their cars ( drunk of course as speed cameras dont register that- on proper cps do)

Just seen a post from Gizmo about parking and lack of traffic wardens .

Could this be that in the interests of "De criminalising" invented by blair and brown , congestion in towns is to be controlled by local authorities , kitted out in black uniforms ( with the town crest on an armband) strutting through each burough ( in jackboots of course) dishing out parking tickets , faster than drivers can park. Too much congestion means we need more "parking attendants" to swell the coffers of town hall. On the plus side , if a town is congested, attendants are too officious or dish out excess tickets, New labour is not to blame - oh no its the local situation.

CSO's cost more than Police officers- so what - they dont have the same powers as a PC - so what.
If a car moves - site cameras to give it a congestion / speed ticket.
If it dont move , give it a parking ticket.
With all those crime figures solved, what chief constble needs police officers, all crime is under control.(AND at a lower cost)(Burglaries - we dont have any , the public dont report them any more - know we will ignore them as it takes too much effort) Any way we cant use photos of PEOPLE committing crime - thats against their human rights - need their permission to photograph them , if they were in a car now, thats a different matter.

So Neil, IN GEAR , and the rest of our much loved BIB, sorry to be so cynical , but isn't this the way our so called Great Britain is heading.
