Drivers caught in speed trap
7:40am Thursday 16th April 2009

ALMOST 50 drivers were stopped by police in a high-profile two-day speeding crackdown on a dangerous stretch of road.

Officers were out in force as they monitored the speed of motorists in Radcliffe Road, The Haulgh — the scene of two deaths and dozens of smashes in the last five years.

Police say a total of 48 motorists were stopped during last week’s crackdown.

Of those, 10 motorists were reported for summons to appear before Bolton Magistrates Court for speeding offences.

The road has a 30mph limit.

Sgt Paul Ellis, of the Bolton Central Neighbourhood Police Team, said: “Many of the motorists advised will be local drivers and I hope this action will make them thoughtful drivers of the future, who will appreciate the dangers caused by excess speed.”

Local :scratchchin: Like the locals in the speedwatch schemes etc who end up pinging themselves

Sorry I forgot to give the link or add to the thread I think I put somewhere else.

Kids.. babies.. life.. will be off radar for a while as Wildy's in hospital tomorrow for a load of tests as "not recovering as well as expected" - she has a suspected kidney infection.
