OK .. I cannot provide proof .. but I trust the word of my sister Julia absolutely.

This woman sees a speed limi sign and will be limpet-like. OK .. some may scoff.. but Julia happens to have a RoSPA Gold under her belt - plus HPC and her take on a skid-pan.... no flap .. but a control which most would give up their eye teeth for
OK ..let me quote what she has just told me in her own words for discussion purposes.

Yesterday - 4 Aug. I'd been in Manchester attending a teacher-exam meeting. I offered a colleage a lift which took me up Hyde Road towards Denton. (A57). I'd approached from the Uni and turned right at onto this road at the Ring Road (Devonshire road into Ancoats turn. I passed the Stagecoach Bus depot and regional HQ.. Just a few yards beyond on the OTHER SIDE of the road .. a GATSO. I noted a Stagecoach bus .. the first vehicle in a stream of about 7 cars in a free flow. I did not see this as above the speed limit of 30 mph. I was at 25 mph on approach and in my opinion .. the oncoming traffic was LEGAL in speed and road discipline. The bus was indicating a right turn to the depot and decelerating per my observation of the road conditions.
I was then talen aback by two very BRIGHT flashes from the Gatso - directly into my eyes. I have to say for the record that these two flashes disturbed my own concentration on the road as I approached this scene. I would thus say they are very dangerous to safe law abiding drivers on this basis alone. I have never seen a Gatso flash before .. as I keep legal and as far as I am aware until now - most others do in real fact
MY COMMENT ... OK /.Julia leaads a fairly sheltered lifestyle 
But what struck me was this .. this was a free flow of safe moving traffic. I cannot say any of these was in excess of 30 mph. The Gatso flashed AFTER the bus and one other car passed. I cannot see how a car can be "faster than the vehicles in front and behind it. But it appeared to flash the third car in my observation .. and it was incorrect as none were above 30 mph in my own estimate of these cars.
So I have asked my brother to post for me as I do not post to any internet site as I have better things to do with my time. But I am still bothered as a fair minded person who believes in fair play and justice for all . What are the safeguards here?
There.. my kid sister who has dictated to me what she wants to say on this board. I told her to register.. but her reply was that I can post for her for now.
She feels her registration would render this messageboard into a kind of "family forum" I agreed to post up her comments by "proxy" on that basis.
But .. it's valid point..the cam flashed. Long after the first vehicle (bus} passed it. This observation undermines the speed cam in reality.
As a "road safety method" - another big fail then.
