i have no idea how to get hold of anyone involved in the construction in road building so is anyone here within that industry? engineers, construction workers etc. the reason being that i am about to launch a local campaign to have a junction changed for safety reasons after a near miss that i had last week when i truck pulled out on me. as a trucker myself, i know how tricky and blind that junction is hence despite technical liability, an accident would not have been his fault. it is due to poor planning and i am about to campaign for improvements to the junction in question. i need advice from a practical perspective from someone who knows the construction side of things to help me choose the best solution to the problem
this is the view of my local colleagues on the subject link

Go to the centre line of the minor road, go 1.5m back from the stop line and crouch so your eyes are at 1m, take a picture of what you can see. Look at the DfT guidelines on sight lines depending on speed limit. If its below what they recommend (which I presume it is) contact your local MP, county councillor, road design in your local council and DfT and prepare to wait a long time.

A google map or photos would be handy to decide what would be the best option available.
(I'm a "qualified" civil engineer with 2 summers experience in road design in my local council so my advice may not be worth much)

The Design Manual for Roads and Bridges is here:

http://www.standardsforhighways.co.uk/dmrb/

The specific section dealing with junction geometry is "Geometric Design Features" within this page:

You could consider asking the question on the SABRE forums where there are a number of highway professionals:
