Hi,

Revieved a letter today saying i was caugt on camera driving91 mph in dumfries on a 70mph motorway. I have just signed and sent the forn stating i was driving.

I have no previous speeding offences, have been driving for 5 years, and no penalty points.

Any idea on possible outcomes?

That sounds like the standard 3 points and £60 'admin fee'/fine. I think there's also a £15 surcharge too - you pay for the (real) crimes (with real victims) of others; robbing Peter to pay Paul who suffered from Patrick's crime...

I thought the £15 surcharge apply if you choose to fight in court und found guilty? :?

They now add this to FPN too? :?

I think you get the FPN of 3 points. I think it become "Good Morning :judge: when you at 95 mph und Hello BAN at 100 mph (unless you are a stressed out copper late for work with a bit of a sob story (like perhaps already told off for being late every day ) or happen to be as lucky as the devil) or have a genuine mitigating factor to present to magistrates who may take into account objectively.

the £15 victim surcharge is applied to all fines levied in court. The money goes to a central fund and is not specific to the case against which it is levied. Its one VS per case, so if you get 3 fines at the same time its only one VS. The VS is not levied against costs or compensation awards. Some financial penalties imposed in court are not fines eg those imposed for no road tax are excise penalties not fines so they don't attract the VS.
Courts have no discretion and must impose the VS.
