And it’s not from government employees. That’s according to Sean Dow, Chairman of Arizona Citizens Against Photo Radar. In an article released by KFYI, Dow says that the Redflex operations manual, which was supplied to CameraFRAUD by a “confidential source,” states that “judges, city workers and other city government workers cannot get tickets.”
The manual also provides a flow chart, easy enough to analyze by your typical bureaucrat, how to distribute tickets—and bring in the take—to Arizona citizens. (That is, unless you work for the government. Then you get a pass.) Wait, wait, wait. I’m sorry. I forgot. It’s about the children and making our streets safer, right? Um, sure. Except that, in Peoria, the streets aren’t safer. (Check that story here.) And in many cases, red light and photo radar cameras actually lead to more accidents because local governments shorten the yellows to increase the number of red light runners, while other folks slam on their brakes to beat the speed cameras, only to increase their speed again once they pass the speed cameras. (As a proud speeder, I know I do. Please post hate comments against me and fellow speeders below.)
Dow stated, “It’s not about safety. It’s about money.” So true. But according to authoritarian logic, safety and money usually mean the same thing: “let’s self-righteously create a new government program that only heartless, cruel and crazy libertarians would oppose, thereby justifying higher taxes” is usually how the thinking goes. Authoritarians also never want to abide by their own standards of “safety,” public housing, public schooling or whatever utopian idea they have in mind. This is “liberty for me but not for thee” thinking. Thus why Obama dares not send his own children to an inner city public school in Washington D.C., but dares not support liberalizing our education system through vouchers either.
Well, we now know that if you’re lucky enough to work for the Arizona government, you won’t be ticketed. As the local, state and federal governments grow daily in power and authority, we can openly acknowledge that our society is one based not on laws, but men. Today’s photo radar story is only our most recent example of government corruption and petty tyranny (and one more reason why you should not hesitate to disobey the government, even if it means speeding).
Hmmm.
