The police usually do what they like.
If you argue, you get arrested (and dna-ed)
If you stay silent, you get arrested (and dna-ed)
If you complain, you get ignored: So you complain to the IPCC, and get even more ignored over a longer interval.
And guess what. IN SOME PLACES YOU CAN GET A FPN FROM A SECURITY GUARD !
Even pcso can grab your cash, sometimes:
Quote:
Designated Powers

There are additionally 53 powers that can be given to a PCSO at the discretion of Chief Constables including:
• The power to issue Fixed Penalty Notices for dog fouling and graffiti/fly posting.
• The power to issue a Penalty Notice for Disorder for a range of offences such as drunk and disorderly behaviour and damage to property of up to £500.
• The power to stop vehicles for testing their condition, including brakes, lighting and steering.
• The power to detain a suspect for 30 minutes for failing to supply a name and address where required (all PCSOs have the power to require a correct name and
address - see standard powers above).
• The power to use reasonable force to prevent someone making off.

56 years after it was decided it was needed, the Bedford Bypass is nearing completion. The last single carriageway length of it.We have the most photogenic mayor though, always being photographed doing nothing

Having visited their main website on the issue I probably have a good idea now on the main points. But what did you glean from the advert ?

Not a lot really .This ad came on round about the time my phone got red hot with Neighbourhood Watch messages requesting information on a stack of bulgarlies .Whether that was a coincidence or not ??
Think the last time I saw a CBO on patrol was a long time ago .Note that the ad does not specifically say POLOCE CONSTABLE ,but then I haven't seen any police person in our area for a while .
The point about foot patrols is not particularly relavent ,or not untill the beats get reduced .Our two CBO did mention some time ago ( when we used to see them) that due to the size of their particular beat ,walking was not an option -they could not respond if needed in a hurry .They used to target individual areas -one walking through ,the other driving round to pick him up .

So in your area Police = 0 PCSO (and elk) = 2 one on car, one on beat ... (usually with less powers than a citizen - hummm ;) ) doesn't bode well for Law and Order does it ...

Probably I put that badly -last time I saw our CBOs ( both PCs ) they did explain why they did not foot patrol ,VERY OFTEN .They would very often ( for appearances sake ) foot patrol ,whilst other went round to other side in car .Mainly because of sizeof beat -both leaving car meant problems responding .Since then I have seen a PCSO with diminishing frequency .But on the other hand in other areas ( as near to thosefunny cameras on another post) ,we regularly see unmarked cars (Vectras ,easily spotted due to strange light on front /rear wings).Did have a PCSO round some months ago asking about Neighbourhood Watch .

This ad is now back on Chan 4 in Central region . With slight modification - they say you can have police ( is it PC ,or Plastic) arrange appointment .Mrs B suggests it might mean that we can arrange for the reactive team to visit our street on an arranged time to ,PERHAPS ,deter feral youth .Perhaps we can now arrange for feral yoof to visit at same time ,to be interviewed .
