Hi All,

I'm looking at affiliate schemes. This is an arrangement where we advertise a commercial website, and when folk click on the advert and go on to make a purchase the commercial website pays us a commission on the sale.

The first one is Tools n Stuff - they are a nice bunch of guys we met last year at Pistonfest. They sell a wide range of tools, and I really covet a couple of low noise generators that they sell.

The following 'special' link takes you to their website and registers you as someone referred from Safe Speed.

Tool n Stuff

A link to their site appears on our user's 'home' page

Pop along and let me know what you think. If you buy, you'll be helping Safe Speed too.

I've signed up to this 'Best of the best' win a supercar scheme. It's a sort of high value raffle.

I'm sure they make very good money out of it, but clearly the chances of winning are far better than telephone numbers to one like the lottery.

I've made no commitment to it (i.e. I don't have to carry their ads or anything like that.) But if folk buy their tickets after clicking on our links we get a healthy 17%.

What's the verdict? Rip off, good bet, a bit of fun?

I'll drop it like a hot potato if folk think it stinks. I'm not really decided.
