"The best deterrent against dangerous driving is a manned police car. Cameras won't catch uninsured drivers, drunk-drivers, or drivers out of their head on drugs."

Richard has it spot-on!

Not sure why people denigrate the Daily Mail so much when people like him get it so spot-on...

You will be branded a threat to society by going over a speed limit where it is safe to do so, and suffer the consequences of your actions in a way criminals do not, more so than someone who is a real threat to our society.

I agree Tone; without the Daily Wail how are we supposed to know what's giving us cancer this week?

Indeed, while it (in particular its columnists) does from time to time hit the nail on the head, it also continually preys upon people's fears. And its concerted campaign against "24-hour drinking", when there actually are no pubs or bars open 24 hours a day, is a disgrace.

 "We're all doomed" said in thick Scottish accent :D

Well, I have to say what I like about him when I have seen him on the telly is he tells it as it is. I've seen him get right in people's faces when he thinks they're wrong or talking ball aches. I guess it comes with a certain amount of arrogance but then it often goes with the territory in that game I think.

I used to like watching Brain Waldron/Waldon in that Sunday morning program and the music was nice too, from Blue Mountain. What was it called now... :scratchchin:

He had a great interviewing technique. No-one quite like him on the scene now unfortunately; really used to take them to task.

Nantucket Sleighride by Mountain. They don't make 'em like that any more, unfortunately :(

Thanks Peter, haven't heard that record for over 20 years. Going to listen to it later though. :D

Like you say, they don't make 'em like that anymore. :(
