As I recall the pursuit was instigated by ANPR false alarm (IE No offence had actually taken place)

As above, can anybody remember what he aledged "Offence" was? Was it an unpaid tax bill or something more serious?

Just curious.

71. Further information indicated that as the vehicle was believed to have been used in overnight thefts by a named individual, it was to be stopped and checked if seen. This information was placed on the ANPR database on Monday 31 March 2008.

72. The incident log for Monday 19 May 2008 shows a Police National Computer (PNC) check on the vehicle.
