This surely is a promotion from insurance companies to increasing coverage? Or for 'closing of loops' for the Legal process to increase prosecutions perhaps ? Perhaps it hasn't 'really changed' at all, car off road (on private land) SORN as we have been for years, back on road insure ... If a car is placed on the road without insurance (for any reason) the law has a recent statement of intent (within last 12 months (SORN - no intention to take the car on the road) so has the law any clearer path for prosecution ?
I do not see why I have to keep informing of SORN status ? What can be the purpose of that ? Once registered as SORN I only have three options, yearly renew the SORN, return the car to the road (if not sold) or scrap it.
The commitment of insurance when considering to return a car back on the road is becoming more considerable when the full expenses are an unknown factor. Might this lead to many 'un-insured cases'?
