Speed zone review

Stretches of the Great Western Highway where speed zones change frequently would be targeted for review under a Coalition government, said the Liberal candidate for Parramatta, Geoff Lee, this week.

The Coalition announced a policy of reviewing speed-camera locations and simplifying road speeds in a bid to ensure the focus is on road safety and not revenue raising.

They have also committed to rationalise speed zones within 12 months and launch a website for residents to submit examples of inconsistent, dangerous or confusing speed zones.

Mr Lee said the Great Western Highway was one of the most notorious roads, with 40 different speed-limit changes.
