I had a similar problem a few years ago. A joyrider stole a car and crashed it into my sporty Golf which was parked opposite my house. My car was totally wrecked. When I contacted the police and asked for details they refused to give me details of the joyrider and the stolen car's owner, (as my insurers said I should claim on the stolen car's insurer), well of course the police also refused to give me their details as well saying "data protection" usual garbage - they just use that as an excuse not to do anything decent. So what happened? I had to claim on my own insurance and lost my no claims. Needless to say I never got back anywhere near what the car was worth. Nowadays I have a policy similar to
porsche insurance Have I got a porsche? Lol. I wish! But the Agreed Value Policy is a very good idea if you have a vehicle that holds it's value.
