LBC have contacted me looking for a young person that has had especially high quotes for insurance & that is giving them difficulty in being able to drive.
Do you know of anyone or are you that person ?
They would like to talk to you now for the show tomorrow morning about 8:30am 11.10.11

If you can help or know of anyone, please contact me asap for the producers contact details.

I'm sorry that I missed this post, it would have interested me a great deal. As a occasional listener of LBC & Nick Ferrari, I have also thought for some time that: (and I'm being polite here) that the insurance companies are "taking the Pith" because we motorists HAVE to have insurance by law! You can if you wish not insure your property, life, holiday etc........or you may not. But no car or bike insurance and the full weight of the law will be reigned against you. .......and they know that and are screwing us blind, possibly with Government support because they want us out of our cars. Less cars, less need for road works, it all means that they can spend less in the future. whilst at the same time jacking up the fuel esculator to make up the loss of tax revenue.....

Of course this would be bearable if we had an efficient well run, modern transport system that could; be there, at the right time, at the right price, to be usable by everyone..........

Oh Noooooo! That too is "privatised" which means that has the cost of using private cars is jacked up! A "business opportunity" is created for the operators to increase their fares! A nationalised railway or bus(for instance) could have had it's fares controlled by the government during time of national stress.

Apart from walking to work (if you can find it), be it 1 mile or 15+ miles, I just don't know where we are going..........except "down" of course.

Re nationalise public transport now! Take control of this farce that is bound to fail. In the whole of Europe there is only one country that has NOT suffered a recession and that is Poland. Why? Because they have not yet sold off their nationalised industries and transport and are therefore more stable. For whatever reason, the demented new leader is planning to "privatise everything".........God help them in a few years time!

I did find someone who knew someone who was to contact them so I hope that worked - been too busy to call them and find out ... !
Shame it is nice to offer them choice but I can give you their number if you'd like to call them anyway - they may have held the story over to this coming week - you never know !

Certainly we are all paying far higher rates.

I do wish that a person hold the insurance not the vehicle that they drive or ride just to start with.

If a proposal is to be made I guess it can start with a well thought out petition and back up literature to show how it can be developed and 'rolled-out'. That way a few MP's may think about it seriously with good reason to promote it e.g. based on sound accounting & ability to work and provide clear benefit.
Then insurance Co's will be forced to change their ways and try and make a profit in other ways ... and take years for them to get there.
I wonder if Trading Standards and find that a Cartel exists as they isn't allowed but it might come under that if they have all decided to charge above a certain rate ? :scratchchin:

You are not alone. This is something I have repeatedly argued about.
