Speed management in Scotland
Half Day CPD Seminar
Friday 30 March, 2012 : 9.30 to 13.00
The AK Bell Theatre, Perth
Since the mid-1990s Scotland’s road safety record has been disappointing. Research into public policy may eventually reveal the reasons, but the procurement of that research depends on the willingness of interested parties to sponsor it. In the meantime, effective speed management has the potential to put us back on the track of preventing harm to others and protecting the more vulnerable sections of society. The Scottish Government’s commitment to promoting the use of Intelligent Speed Adaptation (ISA) in Scotland by 2014 is, therefore, to be welcomed.
But what might this mean for municipal engineers, planners and the travelling public?
And how do we go about making it happen?
Dr Andrew McIver, Dr Frank Lai, Dr Dave Marples and Professor Chris Lines, all experts in speed management matters will be addressing this seminar on speed management today and better speed management tomorrow.
