guy at work wants to hire a minibus to go to a stag do, but his driving license (which he has only had for a few years) doesnt allow him to drive a minibus (transit van sized) but he can drive a normal transit van? i looked on my license and i can drive them but my license is about 12 years old.

how could he make it so he can drive minibuses, does he have to do some kind of test or just write off to DVLA requesting the change to his license.

they might be the same size vehicle but their purposes are different. van = freight, mini-bus = passenger. greateeer responsibility justifies another test
