Well I am pissed off I won't be able to go home this weekend!

I am a road user too and you are not helping me or protesting on my behalf. You lot are protesting cus you are bored, immature little arseholes. You can't get fined for speeding unless you break the law. Simple as that. Next you will be complaining about policemen patrolling the streets.

You never answered my question in another forum: which of the lying, thieving scamerati 'partnerships' is paying you? Come clean.

:trolls: :stop:

No, policemen patrolling the streets and roads are precisely what we do want, and that's why we're protesting.

Stop acting like an ignorant jerk.

Cheers

Back on topic!

I echo andy. I'm with you in spirit if not in person (darn the family member who decided to pop a sprog and have the Christening this weekend!!!)

If the M6 one ever gets off the ground I'll be there (if only to wave two fingers at Steve Callaghan!!)

Sadly I can't be there in person, as I have visitors this weekend. Maybe the next one - relay protest up the M6? (that way anyone not wanting to be inconvenienced - mini drivers - can use the toll!).

Anyways, good luck to everyone who is taking part. Keep it legal, keep it shiny side up, and make sure it has an impact.

As a gesture of solidarity I might wander down the M1 a few junctions at 56mph.

Power to the people!

Yes, I'm certainly on for that (the whole of the M6 is nearer to me than any of the M4).

I'm not going to call you a troll, because I know from personal experience that many people actually hold a similar view to the one you just expressed. The thing that has to be understood is that laws, in general, exist to benefit society. If a law does not benefit society, or even damages society, then people need to try to get things changed. Imagine if a speed limit were placed on walking, set at 1mph everywhere. Imagine that for a long time, this limit isn't enforced much, and everyone goes happily about their lives, walking along at a sensible speed, not doing anybody any harm. Then one day, they start prosecuting people for walking at 1.2mph, and suddenly people are forced to start walking everywhere at a painfully slow speed for fear of prosecution. Would you still say "you can't get fined for walking too fast unless you're breaking the law"?. Surely there would have to come a point where we start to question how such a law is benefiting society?

All the best for the protest today. Sorry I can't make it, but I totally support the argument that money should be spent on traffic officers and not speed cameras. Catch dangerous drivers, not speeders.

Your work is hugley appreciated!

Hmm.. you said summat else in the other thread.

Is a question of priorities. Not fault of Wilts police or even the Prats... but their mags let off a chap who has been copped for unlicenced, uninsured drink and drug driving no less than 28 times - on basis that prison did not work for the last offences and he looks after his mum.

Well... he is a danger to his mum if she is fool enough to get into a car with him, a danger to others in Wilts and a reason why they are lumbered with scams.

So... we have people fined for driving along M4 at 71 mph and above - who may lose licences and jobs for very safe driving - and over triviality overspeeds which I would use discretion over and book according to what I actually saw them do and lecture on safety on the spot - thus ensuring they learn something from the experience. We also have uninsured habitual drunk on the same roads... Some safety policy....

Question for In Gear:

Do you think that when this "all excess speed kills and should be seriously punished" brigade organise this legalised thieving on our roads, the standing of the police generally is brought into question???

I know it's not a nice comment to pass, but when that girl got stabbed in the neck in Surrey last week, all I could think of as they made their appeal for witnessess was that provided the culprit didn't exceed the speed limits as he drove away, then he wouldn't get caught!!! And the other thought The coppers were changing the film in the cameras went through my mind too.

Having my intellegence insulted by over zealous policing when I drive does not make me "respect" the law... Unfortunately, my unpleasant recent experience with a speeding ticket has just made me feel like emigrating.

Stand and Deliver - the new moto of the speed-policing service.
