A5 / A444 camera that has been hidden behind the oak tree (Gasto) has been burnt. The camera takes pics of trucks going over 40 mph has been destroyed by fire.
I do not condone this action and think the persons responsible should be punished by being forced to drink lots of free alcohol

But think of all the lives that are now at risk without the camera watching over them.

Think of the people looking at the road instead of the camera. And may be it would be good for you to read 1984 by George Orwell

ed - could get elder daughter to drive us home - a mile later we'd be sober, or reaching for a bottle.
I wont get in a car with her - letting the young one each her to survive - she's had a licence about 3 years now and needs to start thinking a bit more.

Whilst in nearby Warks we see( FAQ pages)

http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/Web/Corp ... 9E00333447

'You are wasting valuable Police resources by concentrating on speeding motorists rather than real criminals.'

Excessive or inappropriate speed is a contributory factor in one third of all serious or fatal collisions and the partnership is using additional resources that are not detracting from other policing - like catching the tyre slashers

We'll depend on the public for that.

road close at the red gate junction wednesday lunch time for a few hours.... long slow diversion round the back of MIRA etc.

guess the gatso's didn't help prevent it.
anyone know what happened?

i diverted round the other way through nuneaton.

(also found this link http://www.abd.org.uk/local/warwickshire.htm)

No mention in Nuneaton Evening Gazette about any accident -but untill IMHO opinion if safety at Redgate was their objective they'd have dropped the limit as well as engineered some safety into it .
Think I mentioned this bike some time ago.
If you're in Warks, look out for the parking spots being put in for them - roughly two concrete slabs long, with a notice "for police motorcycle only"

Ed_m- nothing to do with travellers is it - there was a bit of shouting some time ago about them getting a camp near there.

Edit.
Not a thing on Warks site. Although they were supposed to be resurfacing on the Nuneaton end.

I think the Warwickshire lot are up to something sinister at red gate (A5/A444) apart from the two slabs they have now painted there dragon lines on the opposite side to there Scamera. I would not put any thing past that lot.

ahah - the two slabs tells all.
Try this -http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/Web/corporate/pages.nsf/Links/8EDB4633670D769780256FFD002C09FF

Look out for the sign "RESERVED FOR POLICE MOTORCYCLE"

Warks have had a bike for a little time but apart from their sits have not advertised it .
Now lots of two slab sites are springing up to house this next twist in the money grab.
Look out for the bike hihhen in the undergrowth.
Does that make sense?
