There are massive roadworks on the A66 in Middlesbrough, and the contractors were concerned about speeding traffic. The layout of the road is such that 35 is difficult to achieve, but the pratnership decided to put a covert mobile camera in anyway. (Totally hidden.)
This is from tonight's Gazette:-
"We found some vehicles were travelling at 80mph so we put in a 30mph speed limit and used some of the biggest 'speed' camera signs to warn motorists. We are not there because there have been crashes, but because we were asked by contractors."
