My girlfriend was driving to work on the M1 north bound, on a bridge between jct 21-22. She said she saw ~8 people. on a brigde pointing what she thinks were speed guns. At the motorway traffic. :? .
Any ideas?
:D Please don't say cheaking speeds :D

From what I have read, radar guns could be difficult to use on a motorway, due to relfection scattering etc :?

Could they be Lasers? or would it be to far to get a good reading?

- Is this vaid, effective way of cataching speeders??? :? .

A very confused robert.

I think you are mistaken there CO, the camera partnerships dont ENFORCE anything, they merely send a fixed penalty off in the post sometime after the event - by which time the offender might well have killed somebody.
Policemen ENFORCE, by stopping the offenders, and re-inforcing the penalty with a lecture while the offence and conditions are still fresh in the minds of the perpetrator.
Definition:
en·force (ĕn-fôrs', -fōrs')
tr.v., -forced, -forc·ing, -forc·es.
To compel observance of or obedience to: enforce a law.
I dont recall any partnerships COMPELLING anything.

Sounds like a rehersal or training for G8 ANPR operations. :shhh:

Driver ID?

I think you mean: 'just about enough of an impression of the driver to enable us to bluff most of them into confessing'.

I saw some this week. MAy have been the same ones. They had a van which on close inspection said "traffic survey" on the side.

Nothing to do with speed enforcement...
