Whilst driving through Manchester today I saw a advertisment hoarding for a new Nissan lifestyle pick-up truck. The slogan underneath read "The Give-Way sign". Now I'm no prude, I don't think that just because a kid has played a violent computer game that means they will go on to be a violent axe-murderer, so I don't believe that thousands of people are going to buy this and then start barging everyone out of the way. But I was a little suprised that a mass manufacturer is sending out a message that it's ok to use the size of your vehicle to intimidate others.
I know they will say the ad is not meant to be taken literally, but then there can be no other interpretation then "might is right" and thats the basis of selling a vehicle?
The other thing is that it's playing right into the hands of the anti-fun brigade who want us all to drive round in electric shopping carts. Its hardly doing that sector of the mortoring industry any favours!
Anybody else seen it? Like I say I was just suprised more then anything and wondered what other people thought about it.
