Don't know if this is allowed or not, if not then please remove.

Couple of bits for sale folks...

First up is a Plextor ConvertX

This little baby will capture your analogue video, and encode it to either MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, or DivX on the fly.
As new condition, £50 + p&p

Next up we have a Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor

This beast (which is also a 7.1 soundcard) has more inputs & outputs than you can shake a stick at.
I do believe the UK retail price is around the £180 mark still, but it's your's for £75 + p&p

Feel free. If fact it's helpful and desireable in terms of building the community.

May I suggest that a small percentage goes to SS? ;)

Cheers
Peter

If either (or both) items sell on here, then it only seems proper that SS gets a percentage (say 10%) for what is effectively advertising space.

Yep, sounds like a good idea - but some have commented that there are too many forums already. I think I'll 'ask the audience'. Standby. :)

Yup.

I suggest the following permissions:

Starting threads: Paid up members only
Responding to threads: any registered members.
Nothing anon.

Can I suggest a few trading rules which I have shamelessly cribbed from another, very busy, forum?

Include the condition of the item.

You must provide a price. Asking and offer prices must include postage and packing costs.

The first person to offer the asking price for an item should get the item.

All deals must remain on the thread. Do not make offers or strike a deal off the thread via email.

The seller is responsible for ensuring the buyer receives their item. The seller should consider appropriate tracking and insurance options when sending items, and is responsible for making a claim where an item does go missing.

I agree that SS should get a proportion of the price paid. I would guess that, since only paid-up members will be able to start threads, collection should not be a problem. :)

Would it be difficult to incorporate the CSCP refugees forum into General now?
It seems unlikely that the CSCP forum will ever surface again, and the topics within it would mainly suit "General" anyway.

Similarly, while M4 Protest was ideally on plain view while current, it could now be incorporated into Campaigning.

Finally, if Paul wishes to delete or move posts, either to a more appropriate forum, or because they are duplicated, a "you are here" thread might help Paul keep members informed of any changes deemed necessary.

I know I often miss some threads and post topics or posts that are already up somewhere else, and unlike Steve's finger on the deletion button, have no worries about Paul moving deleting posts, but it is nice he keeps us informed!

I'd love to see a "For Sale" section, and a technical tips forum - and was working towards selling something myself soon!

Now this comes under the "twisted lable"

Yep a "for sale " bit would be nice - JJ could start it off with some camera equipment and his "ethics " manual , at £5 a square inch should fetch about 50p

Technical info - well some gents from Derby could tell us how to get NIP cancelled at source , and others could help us to get a NIP for a Maestro doing 80MPH to let someone sell it

Seriously - good idea -Ernest - an excellent way of sharing ideas. Perhaps a "Name and shame " section for the motor trade would also be nice, if it could be done without a garage looking at SS for a payout via a legal eagle.
