Just caught the end of a news article about a council that is going to ban the placing of memorials at the side of the road for crash victims, as they can cause a distraction.

And Yellow boxes that can seriously distract people from the task of progressing safely aong the highway is what exactly?

I bet theyre just fed up at how many of these memorials are placed near their precious little yellow boxes, highlighting the fact that they do sod all for road safety. I guess the scamrati dont like people highlighting the fact that the roads are NOT getting safer depsite theyre little boxes.

If you look in the background can just see a lorry carrying a full load of straw. It's especially for you to clutch at...

Seen that photo before. IIRC it was said to be a new crash... one that the Gatso did nothing to prevent.

There's a couple of photos on here, above the middle of the page.

Last time I posted this picture as a picture the thread disappeared!

The main page for that site is here

You don't usually get that many flowers for an anniversary.

New accident.
I took the phot myself, and thus had an opportunity to read the cards.

I agree that there is no place for flowers or memorials at the road side. I think that they should be carefully removed after 1 month and the families invited to assist and cards returned to the family if required.

We had an accident this last winter and the flowers and cards were strewn all ober the trees and became dead and tatty. no-one collected the cards. the council did nothing, the family did nothing. then the mowers shredded it all and made a right mess.
