Hey guys thanks for all the replys! Keeping my fingers crossed that I will be accepted on the advanced course. Hopefully if I can tell the judge that I am actively trying to improve my driving skills then he/she may be a little more forgiving.
Should get the NIP in the next few days and hopefully the court date will be quite soon as I have just returned to uni after the summer and I want this out of the way. I have got a load of work to do and dont want hanging over my head for months. Does anyone have any ideas on the how long the court date will be. I mean is it likely to be 6 months away? Fingers crossed its sooner rather than later! Cheers for now! :)

Hope it goes well.

In the light of speed cam blips IAM have relaxed one or two rulings - but still tend to frown on a ban. But don't let this put you off. You are at Uni - there is some element of flexibility in many situations as Peter points out. Besides you're a fairly young driver and now sowed your wild oats so to speak. We've all done daft things as lads (and lasses in the case of Wildy :neko: and her sister and girly cousins. Can tell some stories about that wild feline. :shhh: )

If your IAM proves to be one of the more "jobsworthy" - then book lesson with ADI all the same. Would still demonstrate willingness to learn from mistake of yikes: 94 mph in 70 mph (whatever). Depends on backlog of court dates as to when you would appear before the beak - can be as long as 6 months. If I were you - I'd concentrate on studies once you have completed all the paperwork, book seesion with either ADI and IAM, keep positive frame of mind over it all and start cycling to lectures whilst you wait as well. You may find that the exercise does you good too. :P
