see this!

( tried to shorten it , but don't know if i got it right)
Now if he had driven his car into the camera, i could seethe sense in banning him.

Mind you it was "a very serious offence." considering that the camera had been attacked twice.

So let me get this right......

Commit an act of arson on a GATSO and you get banned from driving

Commit an act of arson on anything else and you earn yourself a spell in jail

As I have said before, nothing surprises me in this country anymore.

EDIT:
Just remembered, didn't someone get themselves banned recently because they stood by the roadside with a placard warning approaching drivers about a scam van??

Yep, a pensioner held up a board with 'speed trap' written on it. He was prosecuted for obstructing a Police officer, was fined, and lost his driving licence?

He was told that if he had put it down on the side of the road, he would have got away with it because they wouldn't have been able to prove it was him.

I was wondering where the Police Officer was? He should have been prosecuted for Obstructing a civilian (who was pretending to be Police Officer) in the course of his sneaky, underhand little duty whilst hiding in a van.

Why no charges on the partnerships then?
The crime - taking money under false pretences with menaces.
i.e charging £60 with threats of worse under the pretense that this will aid road safety

Believe it or not it was apparently a real cop (by the appropriate name of Cashman IIRC :hehe: ) that nicked Stuart Harding, not a civvie operator. Not sure if Hants are still sending coppers out in the Talivans or if they're using civvies now - it was over a year ago now I think. Still, the major criticism that often gets forgotten is that the spineless bastards didn't try it on with a local councillor for doing exactly the same thing a few weeks before Stuart Harding.
