Grab a copy of today's Motorcycle News, and have a look at page 17.
Page 17- biker flashed by a GATSO presents the magistrates witha recent MCN article relating to innacuracies of GATSO (especially relating to bikes), the bench allow an adjourment so the defence can find more evidence of their failings.

Second article is a biker nicked by an LT! 20.20, aimed at the front of hid bike. Photographic evidence shows the laser beam was targetted on his upper body which, especially when covered with layers of bulky clothing, is NOT a flat, vertical surface, as required to use the gun. Being contested in court. (car drivers- bear this in mind, the photographic evidenve will probably show that the laser wandered around your number plate, then onto your bumper or rad. grill- same principle applies).

Hmm. So if you angle your numberplate either upwards or downwards could you then argue it is not a flat vertical surface so they can't get a true and accurate reading? No point wasting money on photoblocker when you can just mess with a screw driver

You'll then fall foul of the regs. relating to the fitting of number plates.

The front number plate on one of my cars is naturally angled funny. The mounting is such that it will always be at that angle. It passes an MOT every year with it like that and has done since about 1993 so I assume it must be ok :)

The £30 and no points is the same if you have mud all over the plate. I am not sure how long it will stay this way as I have a sneaky feeling that new stupid road safety bill wants to make it a pointable offence.
