current car- Jap 4x4, 2.0 twin cam petrol, fairly commonplace (actually goes quite well)
current bike- Kawasaki 750, again fairly ubiquitous (goes VERY well).

Over the years I've driven...

VW Santana GX5 (first car)
Vauxhall Cavalier GL 2.0i
Audi 100 2.2E
Renault Laguna RXE
Vauxhall Cavalier GLS 1.8i (briefly)
Vauxhall Vectra GLS 2.5 V6
Peugeot 406 LX (briefly)
Vauxhall Omega MV6
Volvo S60 T5 (currently)

Some were new, some were company cars, all were petrol powered.

Worst drive: Santana
Best drive: MV6
Slowest: Audi
Quickest: T5
Most reliable: Laguna
Least reliable: Most of the others let me down at one time or another

Presently thinking of swapping the Volvo for a two year old Audi A8 quattro, but it would be an expensive whim as there's no reason to other than "I just want one". Head is winning over heart at the moment!

Doesn't this all go to show that we aren't all driving tuned up road rockets?

It looks like a fairly general mix of cars with a few bikes and fun cars and everbody is entitled to a little fun in life.

WOW - lucky lad -mine only run to hitop longwheelbase t90/350

Top speed 95 ( downhill, with following wind , some of it mine)
Thought max was T90/125???

don't worry - folks - its the transit "DIS APRECIATION SOCIETY"[/quote]

I'm the fleet manager

New engine last year 137hp 280 lb ft (think it's the 2.4 tdci used in the Mondeo?) mated to a truly terrible six speed gearbox (third and fourth aren't in a stright line) and very abrupt clutch. However, the ability to travel with the lane 3 flow without foot nailed to floor is nice.

Citroën C3 1.4 HDi.
Apparently it has 3 digits on the speedo but I haven't found the third one yet.

It's a very nice 'runabout' and has a lot of odd features (like me :) ) but I miss the power of my ZX 1.9 turbo diesel.

Peugeot 406 HDi 90 - which is why I have to resort to a bit of low cunning when it comes to overtaking.

I really deserve something much more powerful of course  but being a relatively skint OAP I have to make the best of what I have.

Get the violins out guys! :(

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Have only owned 2 cars in 2 yeasr of driving:

1, 1983 Turquoise blue Peugoet 205 Diesel (not turbo). Quoted 48bhp. Very rare colour and very conspicuous as a result

2, 1994 Red Ford Escort Turbo Diesel. Quoted 85bhp but has been 'fiddled with' to about 105bhp.

Neither of these cars are particularly powerful but but I do try and get the most out of them. The governor has been wound back on the escort and as a result have to reach about 40mph in 1st before feeling the limiter. Big cloud of black diesel smoke anyone?

Traded in my old Peugeot 406 estate in October, for a 307 SW, 2.0 HDI.

It has more storage space in the cabin than the 406, nearly as much room in the boot, a flexible seating arrangement (which includes a 6th and 7th seat in the boot).
If you like astronomy, this is the car for you. Unlike many cars with air con and NO sun roof, the SW features a gigantic clear roof, which you can drop back the seat, and lie back and admire the night sky!!

I have not had time to really put it through it's paces, but I dont think it's going to manage 159 mph on the motorway!!
Steering is very reassuring, and road holding is predictable and dependable.
