He crashed into a tree, hitting it at a height of five feet. He escaped with minor injuries. The two officers denied dangerous driving when they appeared at Guildford Crown Court, Surrey.
Richard Bendall, prosecuting, said the motorist, Philip Jones, watched the cars as they drove past him on the A316 near Sunbury, Surrey, estimating their speed to be in excess of 100mph.
