Let's not forget that the busses etc will also have to keep to 20mph, and will also be using more fuel as a consequence.

It is highly questionable whether 20 mph limits in "20 mph zones" can be enforced as there is no requirement to have repeaters within the zone.

If 20 mph limits are to be enforced (as with Tower Bridge) surely they will need repeaters.

See here to understand the distinction:

A slight digression but I found this on one of the related links:

Campaign to end speed bump 'pain'

The use of speed bumps was defended by Fife Council
MSPs have called for more research into the use of speed bumps after hearing complaints about the discomfort caused to chronic pain sufferers.
Disability rights campaigner Judith McCorrie, from Fife, wants humps removed and said she and many others experienced pain driving over them.

Wonder if they could be challanged under DDA ??

Got to be - teachers can't cycle that fast , and 2CVs don't go more than 40

While amusing, I think that picture is inappropriate and detrimental to the SS cause to be honest!

why - the restriction on chavs going to school on the minimotos , doinfg lessthan 60 , or the restriction on the teachers in their 2CV/BIKES

Almost overnight, a whole load of my local streets have sprouted speed humps and are now 20mph zones. Also coincides nicely with the imminent end of the financial year, town halls have got to spend any surplus or get a reduced amount next year.

taking it out =£85000

Feeling good = majic.

For all else there's MASTERCARD.
