From the media:

A police officer accused of causing death by dangerous driving tried to get a previous speeding ticket cancelled because he was "one of the boys".

Aberdeen Crown Court heard how PC Fabian Wright approached road safety camera manager Graeme Duncan with an NIP he received for doing 61mph in a 50mph roadworks zone whilst off-duty.

Duncan told the court he was shocked by PC Wright's attitude, and that he "should have known better". He added "I felt he was trying to get me to possibly let him off with the offence".

PC Wright is currently facing charges for an incident that left a teenager dead when he was alleged to have driven his car dangerously and at excessive speed on Aberdeen's Beach Boulevard on Jan 13th 2005.

Absolutely. Take consolation in the fact that not only is he still facing the fairly serious motoring charges, he is now facing "perverting the course of justice". Bye bye job, pension etc, hello HM prison.

Why did he not just go to Pepipoo after the original offence came to light?
Maybe he was worried by Operation Cheetah ! :(
