Sen. Thayer Verschoor, RGilbert, who sponsored the bill, questioned the motives of Redflex while saying there is no substitute for putting more patrol officers on the road.

“You have to question whether these companies are out there to promote safety or they’re out there to make some money,” he said. “There’s no questioning the motives of a patrolman.”

There are six speed enforcement cameras on the freeway. For each camera, Redflex charges $2,600 per month for its upkeep and maintenance.

In addition, the company collects about $43 of every citation issued, city officials said. Drivers caught speeding face a minimum fine of $157.

Do they lock up any citizens who try and warn of the cameras then?
Surely it would constitute a restraint on trade?

"Representatives from the city drew heavy criticism from some lawmakers when they were unable to provide detailed statistics about the program during questioning. "

to be honest i agree with the removal of cameras 110% from Arizona, IMO pretty damn hot to sit in a van out there, plus the added danger of snakes and indians (sorry if this is classed as trolling)

Traffic density?

In England we have 1000 people per square mile

In Arizona there are 45

Not exactly rich pickings.

In the US fixed cameras are used for target practice....perfect

Now if we could just get the natives in some cities to shoot cameras instead of each other
