Per "Manchester" Paper -
4 intrepid riders are set to pedal 95 miles per day across four countries
Frank Jefferson (70), John Butterworth (55), Alan Webb (43) and Andrew Ashcroft (42) plan to ride from Bury to Bury's twin town of Schorndorf.
They aim to improve the twin town relationship and have been "training hard each day"
Leg one - from Bury across the Pennines to Hull where they catch the ferryboat to Zeebrugge. From there across Belgium, Luxembourg, Alsace-Lorraine to Schorndorf (near Stuttgart)
The 70 year old has already completed a ride from Rime to London and the rest have trined up with coast to coast rides in the UK.
It seems the Germans "started it"
They rode from Schorndorf to Bury!
So. How far would you travel to improve a twin town thing?
How far could you cycle in a day?
I've ridden 30 mile loops around here and ridden across to IG a couple of times.
Reckon I could manage it .. but it's more fun to drive there.
