well driving home last night and the gatso on the other side of the road flashed me, i know this gatso likes to flash randomly whenever it wants even ifthere are no cars on the road, but it happened to flash twice and i was speeding but i was going the over way, can this still get me?
drew this lil pic, now im sure you have to be going in the diretion of the green arrow to get done for speeding, not in the direction of the red arrow where i was going. and surely it would need lines on both sides of the road to do this? and the camera was definatly a gatso not a truvelio

Don't worry Bobslay, Gatsos (if you are sure it is one) are not "type approved" for facing traffic, i.e. their use is not legal and you won't get done.

Increasingly the 'safety' camera partnerships are (allegedly) setting them to flash traffic going both ways when they have no film in, simply to put the frighteners on people.

Sorry mate, p!ss-taking aside, you're in the clear. Gatsos are only licenced for blue-shift Doppler radar, so they can only prosecute cars moving away from them.

As an aside, old Gatsos are known to become 'senile' and discharge their flash circuits more and more frequently (a protective measure for their expensive xenon fluouride flash tubes) to the point that they have to be taken away and humanely destroyed. Unfortunately they are replaced with new Gatsos...
