When he said "it does the job" what does that mean. Causing drivers to panic brake.....nice one.

In Leicestershire recently the council took down a fake camera because of road safety concerns...

but you flash your lights at someone to suggest that they may want to slow down and you're "impeding police business" or whatever the ridiculous charge was...

Isn't impersonating a police officer illegal.

We had "Luscious Lucretia" or some such name up here in Durham.

As per usual - we got moaned at when we expressed concerns over "Luscious" .... she had rather prominant "D cups" and a nasty weilding of a speed gun as I recall.

Some bloke socked her one evenutally and after getting back on her feet a cuople of times - she eventually admitted defeat.

Or did she :scratchchin: .. we sent the little van out there a couple of times to "keep an eye on things"

If you create an object the purpose of which is to impersonate a police officer is that not the same crime? Just the same as putting blue flashing lights on top of your car or a Police Station sign outside your house.

There's got to be a Wicker Man joke in here somewhere (policeman burned alive in sacrifice) but I just can't get it ...

Aren't you supposed to use it on a tripod?

Surely if a motorist was likely to get angry about being hoodwinked in such a way, it would constitute "behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace"?

A village near us has a "scarecrow festival" every year, where lots of people dress one up and put it outside their doors - how charming.

Except you can guarantee at least two police scarecrows wielding 'radar guns' will be put up.

Miserable nimby twats.

At first I got quite irritated at this, but then I realised it was all meant to be quite light hearted, so now if I see them I acknowledge them with a cheery blast on the horn - whatever time of day.
