I have just brought an inforad for my motorcycle. I have followed the instructions ensuring clear line of sight, no tall buildings, wait five mins etc. The aerial is on my top box.

I appear to be able to get a signal while out of London but I am unable to acquire one while in London. Is this a general problem with GPS in built up areas is my unit defective?

There are certain bits of town where my GPS struggles, where tall buildings are close proximity to the road, but mostly I navigate the GPS copes OK.

My system is an iPAQ with a CF GPS receiver.

GPS is susceptable problems with tall buildings. The signcan get lost. Some systems can compensate partly by dead-reconing but these tend to be high-end systems supplied by the OEMs.
